Privacy video guidance on sending Personally Identifiable Information via email (November 2016 School Leader Update)

The U.S. Department of Education’s Privacy and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) released a new guidance video on protecting student privacy while using email to transmit student information. Schools, school districts, AEAs, and colleges need to evaluate the risks that are associated with sending sensitive student Personally Identifiable Information via email prior to sending the information. This video walks through best practices on risk evaluation and is intended for school and district staff. The video can be found on the PTAC Guidance Videos webpage.
