Notice for public comment regarding IDEA State Application Part C
The Iowa Department of Education is now taking comments from the public as it prepares to submit the State Eligibility document for Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and policies, as amended, to the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs.
The plan reflects the cooperative efforts of the Department of Education and other agencies to provide a full program of services to all infants and toddlers ages birth through two with disabilities and their families as prescribed in the Act. This document contains the information required by the U.S. Department of Education for Iowa to continue to receive funding under the provisions of IDEA, Part C. The document contains a submission statement, assurances, and a description of use of funds for services available to all infants and toddlers ages birth through two with disabilities and their families within the State of Iowa. The document will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Education prior to April 21, 2017.

The document and comment form are included below. Each person submitting comments must identify their name, title and address; identify the specific sections of the document they are commenting on; their comment on each section and any recommendations.
Comments must be received by 4PM CDT, Thursday, April 13, 2017 in order to be taken into consideration prior to submission of the document to the U.S. Department of Education.
