Who in the district is going to be responsible for enforcing the HKA nutrition standards and who will be checking for compliance?

Answer: 

The school foodservice director will be responsible for assuring a la carte foods meet HKA standards. The school administrator/business manager/other designee will be responsible for assuring foods and beverages sold in vending machines, school stores and regulated fundraising meet HKA standards. The Bureau of Nutrition, Health and Transportation Services Nutrition Consultants will be responsible for reviewing compliance of a la carte foods with HKA standards. The compliance of all other areas with the HKA nutrition standards, such as vending machines, school stores and regulated fundraising, will be monitored via the School Improvement process and site visits.
