What is the USDA Foods Program?

Answer:

The USDA Foods Program provides bulk unprocessed foods to schools for use in their child nutrition programs. Schools also have the option of turning these foods into processed items. The program serves the dual purpose of supporting American agriculture and providing approximately 15-20% of food for school lunch programs.
