Should the income application be denied if the parent does not include a social security number?

Answer:

If the FIP or Food Assistance number is on the application the adult who filled out the application is not required to include his or her social security number. If part 3 of the application is completed, the adult who filled out the application must record the last four digits of his/her social security number on the application. However, if the adult does not have a social security number, the box must be checked “I do not have a social security number.”   If the last four digits of the social security number are not recorded and if the box is not checked, the application is incomplete and must be denied until the required information is obtained.
