Please explain direct feed/back mapping. We have one K-3 building, one 4-5 building, one 6-8 building, and one 9-12 building. The K-3 building doesn't have any of the grade levels required for reporting. What do we need to do?

Back mapping occurs because we are required to make an AYP decision for every school. As such, if a school does not have an accountability grade, we attribute the scores for the next grade up to that school. For example, if you had a K-2 building and a 3-5 building, the grade 3 data would be back mapped into the K-2 building, and the AYP decision of the K-2 building would be based on grade 3 results.
