How many state components are in the Student Curriculum (8th Grade) Plan Process?

Answer:

Beginning in 8th grade, each grade level has state components that are developmentally appropriate for that age group. The components include career and interest assessments; individual course plan(s); activities such as online research or databases about career, colleges and financial aid or scholarships; workplace learning; individual student reflection paragraph and a summary of the portfolio as it builds toward high school graduation. There are 33 required state components over the 5 years with additional opportunities to document extra-curricular or co-curricular activities, certificates and awards and community projects and service in the student portfolio.
