What's Your Job Description?

This is the first in a series of three webinars designed to assist individuals who are new to a leadership position in Iowa School Nutrition Programs to feel confident in assuming their duties.

We know that job descriptions and titles vary from School Nutrition Director to Head Cook. This first webinar will help participants identify the essential functions of a School Nutrition Program and resources to learn more about them. An overview of program documentation requirements will also be included. Participants will have the opportunity to identify areas in which they would like additional assistance.

Objectives for this session:

  • Understand the responsibilities of a school meal program and that these may be divided in some districts.
  • Identify resources for education in all areas of school food service.
  • List food safety, menu planning, and meal counting and claiming training activities which participants have completed or plan to complete.
