Community College Program Approval
To standardize and expedite the program approval, modification, and deactivation processes, the Division of Community Colleges & Workforce Preparation has transitioned from paper to electronic submission through CurricUNET - a web-based course and program development, evaluation, and storage system. College personnel have access to their individualized administrative site, which requires a username and password, but everyone can access the public site at: http://www.curricunet.com/iowa_doe.
To help college personnel understand the Department’s program approval/review processes, the program approval guidelines have been updated and presented in a 19-page, user-friendly manual with links to resources and consultants. Please refer to the “Program Approval Guidelines” manual linked below as you begin course and program development or modification. Also, feel free to contact the program quality consultant for further information on processes or CurricUNET.
The following “paper” forms are provided purely for reference, as they are no longer to be submitted to the state. One may use them to see the type of information requested of colleges at various stages of the program approval process, but please do not fill them out or hit the “Submit Form” or “Submit by Email” buttons on the top right. All of this information is now submitted into CurricUNET and then flows through the college’s internal approval process before being submitted to the Iowa Department of Education.
