Titled Quality Literacy: All Teachers, All Tiers, All Learners, the summit’s focus will be on implementing research-based preschool-through-third grade literacy efforts. There will be opportunities to learn about explicit instruction, and effective and efficient teaching.

Two nationally recognized speakers will be headlining the two-day event. Dr. Anita Archer, a consultant to school districts on explicit instruction and literacy improvement, along with Dr. Laura M. Justice, an applied researcher in early childhood language and literacy development, will be leading the two days of learning.

The conference is aimed at educators (administrators, classroom teachers, special educators, coaches, early childhood teachers, Area Education Agency staff, and interventionists) who support preschool-through-third grade literacy efforts.

The summit will be held at the Iowa Events Center, located at 730 Third St. in Des Moines.

Coffee and check-in will open at 7:30 a.m., with the summit running from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

There is no cost to attend, and all books and materials for the two days will be provided. However, registration is limited, so early registration is suggested. Click here to register for the Quality Literacy Instruction Summit.
