Segment 6 - Collecting and Analyzing Data Go to Videos
     At the beginning of the segment, Bev Showers is briefly interviewed about the purpose of collecting and analyzing student data. The segment continues with a school district representative describing teachers' analysis of student data.

Segment 7 - Goal Setting Go to Videos
     The speaker, who is from a district's central office, describes how groups used the results of data analysis to set goals.

Segment 8 - Designing Process for Professional Development Go to Videos
     Bev Showers describes the elements of effective staff development.

Segment 9 - Selecting Content Go to Videos
      Deb Hansen describes the Iowa Content Network. Bev Showers explains the characteristics and implications of scientifically based research upon selecting content.

Segment 10 - Ongoing Cycle Go to Videos
     Bev Showers and Deb Hansen introduce the Ongoing Cycle component of the Iowa Professional Development Model. Then brief segments of two collaborative team meetings illustrate how teachers discuss data and plan lessons. Both teams are from Harding Middle School of Des Moines Community School District. The segment concludes with additional comments by Dr. Showers.

Segment 11 - Summative Evaluation Go to Videos
     Bev Showers describes the Des Moines Public Schools' summative evaluation of middle and high school level struggling readers after implementing reading comprehension strategies.
