Are school districts required to do any planning or adopt any new policies?
Yes.
Each school district is required to:
- Develop a class size management strategy to work towards, or maintain, class sizes in basic skill instruction for K-3 at the state goal of 17 students to every one teacher. The law requires that the class size management strategy be included in the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP).
- Adopt a school board policy on how the school district will biannually inform parents of their K-3 individual student's progress.
