What are examples of actions that are NOT considered to be corporal punishment?
Corporal punishment does not include the following:
- Verbal reprimand of a student;
- Reasonable requirements made of students engaged in physical education class or extracurricular athletics;
- Activity called for in a student's IEP (Individualized Educational Program);
- Detention of a student that does not involve the use of material restraints.
