Are the violence-related offenses used to define a "persistently dangerous schools" the same ones used to determine whether a student is the victim of a crime of violence?

Not entirely. The list of violent offenses for the individual student option include only crimes of violence directed personally at one student or a small group of students. These crimes are as follows:

  1. A forcible felony.
  2. Physical assaults, with the exception of simple assault (no injury).
  3. Sexual assaults.
  4. Extortion.
