Could an elementary teacher get an endorsement to teach driver's education?
Yes.
If the teacher now holds a current teaching license at the elementary or secondary level, then s/he can take classes to gain the necessary license (endorsement) to teach the classroom and laboratory (car and simulator) parts of driver's education within an approved program. Classes are offered by the University of Northern Iowa (1-800-648-3864; the direct number is 319-273-7740) and by William Penn College (515-673-1019). These will be nine-semester hour programs.
