If districts do not maintain all funds within the same accounting system on a day-to-day basis, how will they handle the upload of the chart of accounts?
The district will upload only one chart of accounts that must include all funds within the district. If the district maintains separate systems during the school year, it must merge those records at year end prior to the upload. It could do this by networking the computers into one system or by importing the separate systems into the main district-wide accounting software system. In order to do this accurately, the district will need to ensure that every accounting system used by the district is using the required Uniform Financial Accounting chart of accounts.
