ECR: B – 5 Trainers Booster Session
The Iowa Department of Education is pleased to offer its annual June training for Every Child Reads: Birth – Five trainers. Dr. Karen C. Stoiber from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee will be our presenter. The title of her presentation is: “Early Literacy and Response to Intervention Multi-Tiered Delivery.”
This training will focus on early literacy assessment and intervention. The training workshop will place an explicit emphasis on evidence-based practices shown to produce positive outcomes in improving young children’s early literacy development. The workshop will include instruction and demonstration of early literacy practices that are closely aligned with implementation of response-to-intervention (RTI) including: shared book reading, vocabulary, and language development; screening and progress monitoring; differentiated small group strategies; collaborative teaming and literacy coaching aimed at supporting effective teacher implementation; and intervention integrity for improving instructional and intervention practices.
Registration deadline is Friday, April 26th.
