Iowa Department of Education Director Jason Glass today announced a meeting of the Task Force on Teacher Leadership and Compensation on Friday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The meeting will take place in Room B100 (basement level) in the Grimes State Office Building.
Glass established the task force in February to help the state move forward strategically in the areas of teacher leadership roles and compensation issues. It is a component of the education reform recommendations introduced by Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds in January, as well as Senate File 2284, the education package adopted by the Iowa Legislature this spring. Meetings are open to the public.

10 a.m. - Presentation of Revised Recommendations and Feedback Gathering
12:30 p.m. - Working Lunch
1:30 p.m. - Finalizing Recommendations
3 p.m. - Small Group Sessions

4:30 p.m. - Closing and Final Reflections
5 p.m. - Adjourn
