Director Glass commends Iowa’s No. 1 standing for state graduation rates, cautions that more work remains

Iowa Department of Education Director Jason Glass today released the following statement about new U.S. Department of Education data showing that Iowa led the nation in state four-year graduation rates in 2010-11, the first year for which all states used a common, rigorous measure. Previously, states used different methods to calculate and report graduation rates, which made state-by-state comparisons difficult.

 

Task force releases recommendations on early childhood assessment

Members of the Task Force on Early Childhood Assessment today released their final report, which recommends one standard school readiness assessment for Iowa school districts to administer.
